Jurgen Klopp Provides Injury Updates Ahead of Newcastle Clash
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given updates on the injury status of two key players ahead of their upcoming match against Newcastle on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately, there is little optimism regarding the return of Andy Robertson in January as his recovery from a shoulder injury continues. Klopp revealed that Robertson still needs more range in his shoulder and is not even close to team training. It seems likely that he will be out for the entire month of January as he works towards getting closer to a return.
On a more positive note, there is promising news regarding Alexis Mac Allister. The midfielder, who has missed the last six games due to a nasty cut on his left knee, may be involved in team training again soon. A decision on his involvement will be made on Friday. Klopp expressed his hope that Mac Allister could be back for the Newcastle match, which would be outstanding for the team.
Liverpool has been dealing with several other injuries as well. Kostas Tsimikas is ruled out indefinitely after breaking his collarbone, while Joel Matip (knee), Thiago (hip), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), and Ben Doak (knee) are still unavailable. However, there were no new injuries reported after their recent victory over Burnley.
Overall, Klopp and Liverpool will have to navigate through these injury challenges as they continue their campaign in the Premier League.
