Thiago’s Return to Liverpool Training Ground Raises Hope for Fans
Thiago Alcantara, Liverpool’s midfielder, has provided a rare update from the AXA Training Centre, indicating that he may be nearing a return to the team. It has been seven-and-a-half months since Thiago’s last appearance for Liverpool, as he underwent surgery for a long-standing hip problem in April.
Although Thiago briefly returned to first-team training at the beginning of the current season, a setback has kept him sidelined since then. However, his recent post on social media, which showed him walking into the training ground, has sparked renewed hopes among fans that he is close to making a comeback.
Furthermore, Thiago joined his teammates for a squad photo commemorating Mohamed Salah’s 200 goals for the club. Notably, players like Andy Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic, and Diogo Jota, who are believed to be working towards a return in the near future, were seen wearing trainers while the rest of the senior squad wore sliders. Unfortunately, Alexis Mac Allister was absent due to his ongoing recovery from a knee injury.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp previously provided a timeline for Thiago’s return, stating that he expected him to be back at the start of the new year. However, Klopp emphasized that there should be no pressure on Thiago’s recovery and that the player’s exceptional talent is eagerly awaited by the team.
While it remains to be seen when Thiago will be able to return to action, Klopp’s previous timeline has already passed. This could indicate that Thiago may soon rejoin training. Klopp has also mentioned that Thiago needs time to recover and that he is working hard to make a comeback.
As Thiago enters his final season with Liverpool and considering his major hip surgery, Klopp is cautious about managing expectations. Nevertheless, any contribution from Thiago in the coming months would be greatly appreciated by both the manager and the supporters.
