Jurgen Klopp Confirms Trent Alexander-Arnold Should Be Involved in Liverpool’s Trip to Tottenham
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold should be involved in the team’s trip to Tottenham this Saturday. Alexander-Arnold has been absent since the 3-0 win over Aston Villa on September 3, missing three games with a hamstring injury. However, Klopp believes that the defender is fit enough to play against Spurs.
Klopp said: “Trent trained yesterday normal, will train today normal, so we have to make a decision. He will be in the squad. I’m not a doctor, but he looks like he can be in the squad tomorrow and play.”
Unfortunately, Klopp also revealed that 18-year-old Stefan Bajcetic has had a “little setback” and will not be available for selection. The manager explained: “Stefan had a little, little, little setback. The problem with Stefan, we have to be really careful. A little, little, little, tiny calf issue. That’s how it is when you’re six months out. We try everything without pushing him, but in the end, it’s disappointing for him and us as well. We have to take him out a little bit. He can work on pretty much everything else, but not play.”
Alexander-Arnold Rejoins Training
Alexander-Arnold rejoined training on Monday, before being rested for the League Cup victory over Leicester, with an eye on involvement against Tottenham. The 21-year-old has been an integral part of Liverpool’s success over the past few seasons, and his return to the team will be a welcome boost for Klopp and the Reds.
Thiago and Conor Bradley Still Out
Klopp also confirmed that Thiago and Conor Bradley are still out with injuries. Thiago has been out since October 17th after picking up a knee injury in the Merseyside Derby, while Bradley has been out since October 3rd with an ankle injury.
Conclusion
It looks like Liverpool will have Trent Alexander-Arnold back in the squad for their trip to Tottenham this Saturday. However, Stefan Bajcetic has had a “little setback” and will not be available for selection. Thiago and Conor Bradley are also still out with injuries. It remains to be seen if Alexander-Arnold will start against Spurs, but his return to the squad will be a welcome boost for Liverpool as they look to continue their impressive form this season.
