Klopp Unveils Bajcetic’s Return Strategy After 38-Game Hiatus
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the plan for Stefan Bajcetic’s return to first-team training after a frustrating season plagued by injuries. The 19-year-old had a breakthrough campaign last year but has been sidelined this season due to growth-related issues.
Bajcetic has only featured twice this season and has missed a total of 38 games, equivalent to a full Premier League season. However, Klopp assures that there is a clear plan in place for his return. Currently, Bajcetic is participating in partial training with the U21s, and next week he will be joining them for full training. Klopp explains that the reason for this arrangement is that the first team does not have regular training sessions due to the constant match schedule. After his training with the U21s, Bajcetic will finally join the first team for training.
During his time away from the pitch, Bajcetic has made significant physical progress. Klopp has noticed that he has bulked up and gained muscles, which is a positive sign for his return. The manager describes Bajcetic’s appearance as “looking good.”
Although Bajcetic will soon transition to first-team training, it is likely that he will initially play games at the academy level before focusing on performing well in the pre-season under the guidance of Liverpool’s new manager. Klopp cites Conor Bradley’s return from a long-term back injury as an example of what is possible. He praises Bradley’s football intelligence, stating that he hasn’t lost any of it during his absence. However, Klopp acknowledges that regaining rhythm is crucial and may take some time.
Liverpool has been cautious with Bajcetic’s return because his body was not fully prepared for the intensity of professional football. Klopp emphasizes the need for him to rebuild his foundations before being fully integrated into the team. Bajcetic’s versatility in midfield and defense makes him an intriguing asset for the club’s new manager, who will have to decide how best to utilize his skills.
To date, Bajcetic has made 21 appearances for Liverpool, with 12 of them as part of the starting XI. Despite the setbacks this season, there is optimism surrounding his return and the potential impact he can make on the team. With proper training and careful management, Bajcetic could become a key player for Liverpool in the future.
