Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the club is in talks with players ahead of the summer transfer window. The Reds have had a difficult season, currently sitting far down the Premier League table after going the distance in all four competitions last season and winning two trophies. Injuries to key players such as Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz have contributed to their struggles this season. As a result, Liverpool is expected to undergo a summer rebuild, with links to Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
Klopp revealed that he has been using the international break to plan for the future, stating that “That’s actually the only thing that we do during the international break. Apart from having a few days off, we don’t plan training sessions as I don’t know who is coming back or when so we do that.” When asked about progress on signings or replacing departing sporting director Julian Ward, Klopp said: “It was good, on the player side I’m positive, I would say. But it’s talks, not decisions. But we are busy, as you can imagine.”
Liverpool’s struggles this season have been well-documented, with the club suffering from a lack of depth and injuries to key players. Despite this, Klopp remains optimistic about the future and is looking forward to making some key signings in the summer transfer window. With Liverpool expected to undergo a significant overhaul in the coming months, fans will be hoping that Klopp can lead the club to a successful campaign next season.
