Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) has appointed Keith Pelley as its new president and CEO, according to a league source. The news was first reported by TSN’s Rick Westhead. Pelley brings extensive experience in Toronto’s sports landscape, having previously served as the president and CEO of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts, as well as holding high-profile executive positions at Rogers Communications and Bell, MLSE’s two largest shareholders.
During his tenure at Rogers Media, Pelley played a pivotal role in negotiating the NHL’s $5.2 billion Canadian television deal that is set to run until 2026. MLSE, the parent company of the Maple Leafs and Argonauts, as well as the NBA’s Toronto Raptors and MLS’s Toronto FC, has declined to comment on the appointment.
This marks an exciting development for MLSE, and further updates on this story will be provided.
