Katie Stengel is a forward for Liverpool in the Women’s Super League and is one of the Ones to Watch in the league. BBC Sport spoke to her to find out what it takes to be a successful forward in the WSL.
Stengel said: “It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a successful forward in the WSL. You have to be willing to put in the extra effort, both on and off the pitch. You have to be able to read the game and know when to make the right runs and when to hold up play. You also need to have good technical ability and be able to finish off chances when they come your way.”
Stengel also shared her advice for aspiring footballers. “My advice would be to never give up and always believe in yourself. It’s important to stay focused and keep working hard, no matter what obstacles you face. It’s also important to enjoy the game and have fun, because that’s what football is all about.”
