Today, West Ham United have announced the appointment of Karren Brady as a director of their Women’s Super League side. Joining her on the board are Tara Warren and Nicola Keye, with the trio having a combined sixty years’ experience in senior operational roles in professional football.
Karren Brady’s focus will be on providing executive level support for the club’s women’s football operation. This includes commercial functions, first-team and WSL academy. She is delighted to be able to confirm this new level of support, noting that the women’s game is the fastest growing sport in the UK.
Tara Warren and Nicola Keye also bring a wealth of valuable experience in football and business, and together they will work hard to ensure West Ham United Women continue to go from strength to strength both on and off the field. The team have achieved their highest ever finish in the WSL last season, ending in sixth place, and have ambitions of breaking into the top four. They have also reached the Conti Cup semi-finals and the fifth round of this year’s FA Cup before being knocked out by Aston Villa.
With the appointment of Karren Brady, Tara Warren and Nicola Keye, West Ham United are hoping to boost the growth of their WSL side and close the gap on the top four. The trio’s combined experience in football and business should help them reach their goals.
