Chelsea Face Resistance from Juventus Over Dusan Vlahovic Transfer
Chelsea’s pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus has hit a stumbling block as the Italian club refuses to lower their asking price for the striker. Despite already signing Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson this summer, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding another striker to his squad.
According to reports from Italy, Chelsea have made inquiries about Vlahovic’s availability but have yet to submit an official offer to Juventus. The Serie A champions, however, are standing firm and have made it clear that they will not accept any offers below €75 million (£64m), with additional performance-related bonuses.
It is not just Chelsea who have shown interest in Juventus players. Liverpool and Newcastle United have also enquired about Federico Chiesa. However, Juventus is unwilling to drop their valuation and is demanding a minimum of €55 million (£46.9m) for the winger.
While Chelsea continues their pursuit of Vlahovic, they are also engaged in negotiations with Inter over a potential deal for Romelu Lukaku. Inter’s initial offer of £23 million has been rejected by Chelsea, but the Serie A club is prepared to submit a new bid that is closer to Chelsea’s asking price of £40 million.
Lukaku, who scored 14 goals during his loan spell with Inter last season, has also turned down interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal. The Belgian striker is determined to continue playing in Europe.
The transfer market has been heating up this summer, with several clubs vying for top talent. Chelsea, under the guidance of Pochettino, are looking to strengthen their squad as they aim to challenge for major honors in the upcoming season.
Vlahovic, a highly-rated young striker, has caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe. His performances for Fiorentina last season earned him a move to Juventus, where he has continued to impress. At just 21 years old, Vlahovic has already shown great potential and could be a valuable addition to any team.
However, Juventus’ firm stance on their asking price may prove to be a stumbling block for Chelsea. The London club will need to decide whether they are willing to meet Juventus’ demands or explore other options in the transfer market.
Meanwhile, the negotiations with Inter for Lukaku continue to be a priority for Chelsea. Lukaku’s impressive performances for Inter have made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. His physicality, goal-scoring ability, and experience make him an attractive prospect for any team.
While Lukaku has rejected interest from Al-Hilal, it remains to be seen whether he will be open to a move back to Chelsea. The Belgian striker previously had a spell at Chelsea before moving to Everton and then Manchester United. A return to Stamford Bridge could provide Lukaku with a chance to prove himself once again in the Premier League.
As the transfer window progresses, Chelsea will need to make crucial decisions regarding their striking options. Whether they secure the services of Vlahovic or Lukaku, or explore other avenues, Pochettino will be hoping to bolster his attacking options and strengthen Chelsea’s chances of success in the upcoming season.
With the new Premier League campaign just around the corner, Chelsea fans will be eagerly awaiting news of any potential signings and hoping that their club can assemble a squad capable of challenging for silverware.
