Jurgen Klopp has described the form of his Liverpool side earlier this season as a “crisis” but believes they have now come safely through it. The Reds have won their last five games, including a 3-0 victory over Fulham on Wednesday, after a number of poor results away from Anfield. Klopp believes his team have weathered the storm and are now ready to get back to their best.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s visit of Brentford, Klopp praised his “really good group” of players and admitted changes will be needed this summer. He said: “I love this team, honestly. It’s a really good group. Yes, we will change slightly, but the basis is absolutely great. Age-wise the basis is great, up front, last line, in midfield we have super young talents as well and there’s everything there you need to have a really positive and optimistic view of it.”
Liverpool have just four games of their Premier League season remaining and while Champions League qualification looks unlikely, there appears to be a wave of momentum hitting the Reds ahead of the summer.
