Jurgen Klopp praised both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson for their performances in Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday. Klopp discussed how the new shape has impacted Robertson’s responsibilities, with Alexander-Arnold operating in a more advanced role. The 24-year-old has been afforded more freedom and able to express himself creatively, shifting more of the defensive duties over to the left-hand side. Klopp explained that Robertson has to judge when he can be involved offensively more carefully, but the results suggest that the tactical change is taking Liverpool in the right direction. Alexander-Arnold has grabbed four assists in his past three outings since switching positions, having managed just three in the entirety of the season prior to that.
