Jurgen Klopp maintains that Liverpool only have three options regarding European football next season: the Europa League, the Europa Conference League, or no European competition whatsoever. The Champions League is not on his radar. Klopp stressed to Premier League productions that the top four is something they have “no influence” over and that they need to take it game by game and try to win another one. He is aware of the teams above them, such as Tottenham and Newcastle, who meet on Sunday and a win for Spurs would mean the Reds are six points adrift of fourth spot. Liverpool still have four of their remaining seven fixtures at Anfield and some may still harbour hope of a Champions League spot, but Klopp knows there is plenty of ground to make up before it can even be considered a possibility. The Reds must make sure they do not take a backwards step at West Ham on Wednesday.
