Liverpool Carabao Cup Semi-Final: Curtis Jones Shines in Win Against Fulham
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp jokingly apologized to Curtis Jones for his lack of game time after the young midfielder played a starring role in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Fulham in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg. Jones scored the equalizer for Liverpool, with his shot from 25 yards taking a deflection off Tosin Adarabioyo.
Jones, who has only started seven Premier League matches this season, expressed his desire for more game time in an interview after the match. Klopp acknowledged that Jones is an important player for the team and praised his progress and consistency.
The second leg of the semi-final will take place at Craven Cottage next Wednesday, but before that, Liverpool will focus on extending their lead at the top of the Premier League when they face Bournemouth on Sunday.
