Jude Bellingham continues to cement his position as one of the most impressive young players on the planet as he continues to shine in the Champions League before he even turns 20.

The 19-year-old scored the opening goal of the game as Borussia Dortmund took the lead at Manchester City, although the Premier League champions scored twice in the last 10 minutes to pinch a victory.

Bellingham admitted he was ‘gutted’ after the defeat, but his personal progress continues at a stunning pace as he scored the fourth Champions League goal of his career.

That is the most goals ever scored in the Champions League by an English teenager, while his 18 Champions League appearances also represents the most ever of an English teenager.

The former Birmingham midfielder already has 15 England caps to his name and will be hoping to play a big role in the World Cup at the end of this year.

After the game he spoke impressively for such a young man, admitting defeat but immediately turning attention to a big Bundesliga clash with Schalke on Saturday.

‘It’s tough to see them [the positives] now to be honest,’ Bellingham told BT Sport. ‘I’m gutted, 15 minutes or so from the end of the game

‘But that’s football against these big teams, but we’ve got a massive game on Saturday in the derby, huge for us and the fans.

‘It’s important that we bounce back and we can take the positives quickly and learn from it.’

The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool next year, but Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is clearly a big fan of him as well.

‘Jude Bellingham is an exceptional, great player,’ said the Spaniard. ‘I think everyone knows it, not just because the manager of Manchester City tells you!’
