Jude Bellingham Breaks Cristiano Ronaldo’s Record at Real Madrid
English midfielder Jude Bellingham has surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo’s record at Real Madrid by scoring in their 3-0 victory over Cadiz on Sunday.
Bellingham’s Impressive Start at Real Madrid
The talented England international showcased his skills with an excellent finish in the 74th minute, helping Carlo Ancelotti’s side secure a win after the international break.
Since his €103 million (£88.5m) transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, Bellingham has made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals in just 15 appearances for Madrid.
A New Record for Real Madrid
With his goal against Cadiz, Bellingham becomes the first player in the club’s history to score more than 13 goals in their first 15 games.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Madrid from Manchester United in 2009 for £80m, had an impressive start with 13 goals in his first 15 appearances. However, he could only match the records set by Madrid legends Alfredo Di Stefano and Pruden in 1953 and 1943, respectively.
Injury Concerns for Bellingham
Before the Cadiz match, there were concerns about Bellingham’s fitness due to a shoulder injury that kept him out of the international break with England. However, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Bellingham was fit to play.
“Jude is fine. He still has problems in his shoulder, but he feels fine with the protection,” said Ancelotti.
