Jose Mourinho has denied any contact with Paris Saint-Germain over potentially taking over from Christophe Galtier in the summer. Reports in France had suggested there had been some contact between PSG and Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, but the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss told Sky Sport Italia: ‘If they called, they didn’t find me, I’ve never spoken to them.’
Mourinho has not moved to play down links with PSG, but has already spoken about how calm he is with the situation, pointing out he has another season on his Roma contract. He said: ‘I don’t talk to friends, comrades, journalists. The situation is clear, from a contractual point of view I still have one year on my contract. Football is football, sometimes contracts aren’t the most important thing. All good, all calm, the next one is always the most important game.’
The Portuguese manager also spoke about Roma’s upcoming Europa League semi-final with Bayer Leverkusen, saying: ‘They are among the best teams in Europe for counter-attacks. They are very dangerous in this moment of the game, they defend, wait for the opponent to lose the ball and then it’s difficult to stop them. They have many fast attacking players.’
