Gabriel Jesus, the Brazilian football star who plays for Arsenal, has been making the most of his injury recovery by learning how to drive. The 23-year-old has been recovering from a knee injury he picked up at the World Cup for the past three months. However, having undergone surgery, Jesus is now on the brink of a first-team return and is expected to fly out with his team-mates for Thursday’s Europa League clash against Sporting Lisbon. In the meantime, Jesus has been putting pedal to the metal around Arsenal’s London Colney training base, taking lessons with Hadley School of Motoring.

During one of his driving lessons, Jesus was spotted by his new friend and Arsenal teammate, Jorginho. The ex-Chelsea man was left in stitches as he encountered the forward getting to grips with his L-plates alongside a driving instructor. Jorginho posted a hilarious clip of the encounter to his Instagram Story, which showed Jesus rolling down the window in the car park. Jorginho burst out laughing before asking: “Gabi! What are you doing?” Jesus and his instructor saw the funny side too, with the Samba star cheekily replying: “Nice car huh? Practising, my friend. Can I practice in your car?” A chuckling Jorginho answered: “No chance mate! Good luck, good lesson.”

Arsenal fans certainly loved the interaction between the two players, with one saying: “That’s some funny stuff right there. Even better, team-mates growing their friendship off the field too. Arsenal is family.” Another declared: “He’s probably learning how to drive us to the league title.” One noted: “Jorginho is so likeable it’s unbelievable.” Another added: “Jorginho trolling Gabby and both are Arsenal players. What a time.”

Jesus has been out of action since he was injured during Brazil’s 1-0 win over Chile in a World Cup qualifier in March. He missed the rest of the tournament and has been undergoing rehabilitation ever since. However, he is now close to making a return to action for Arsenal, who are currently third in the Premier League table. The Gunners have been in fine form this season, winning seven of their first nine games and scoring 20 goals in the process.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in August 2021 for a fee of £50 million. He has made an immediate impact at his new club, scoring four goals in his first six appearances. The Brazilian is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in world football and is expected to have a big future at Arsenal.

Jorginho, meanwhile, joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January 2021 for a fee of £50 million. The Italian midfielder has been a key player for the Gunners this season, helping them to climb up the table and challenge for the title. He has formed a strong partnership with fellow midfielder Thomas Partey and is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Overall, it seems that Gabriel Jesus is making good use of his time off by learning how to drive. His new friend Jorginho certainly seems to be enjoying his company and it will be interesting to see how their friendship develops over time. As for Arsenal fans, they will be hoping that Jesus can return to action soon and help them to challenge for silverware this season.
