Joey Barton Threatens Gary Neville After Offensive Remarks About Female Pundits
Joey Barton, known for his thuggish behavior as a player and manager, has issued a threat to Gary Neville following his condemnation by ITV for his offensive remarks about female pundits.
Barton’s latest offensive take comparing female duo Eni Aluko and Lucy Ward to serial killers Fred and Rose West has sparked outrage.
In reference to Aluko, Barton wrote on X: “How is she even talking about Men’s football? She can’t even kick a ball properly.”
He continued, “Eni Aluko and Lucy Ward, the Fred and Rose West of football commentary. F***ing pathetic. Get them off the Men’s Football. Off the tele. Only there to tick boxes. DEI is a load of s**t. Affirmative action.”
The 41-year-old, a convicted criminal, has been targeting England’s most successful female footballers over the past month, expressing his disapproval of their involvement in the men’s game.
ITV has released a statement in response to Barton’s comments, calling them “contemptible and shameful” and emphasizing that football is for everyone.
Gary Neville praised ITV for their statement, stating that mentioning serial killers is “incredible” and sharing personal experiences of misogyny within his own family.
Barton responded to Neville’s comments, warning him to “keep his head down” or he will face consequences.
