Joao Felix and Thomas Lemar in Bust-up During Atletico Madrid Training
Joao Felix was at the centre of a bust-up with his Atletico Madrid teammate Thomas Lemar on Thursday. The Portugal international has begun pre-season training with Atletico after failing to convince Chelsea to make his loan deal permanent.
Chelsea spent £16 million on signing Felix in the January transfer window but after a red card during his debut, the 23-year-old struggled to make an impact and went on to score four goals in 20 appearances.
Felix is now pushing to leave Atletico once again and cut a frustrated figure during his first session back last week after he was isolated from the first-team squad.
The forward still appears upset with his current situation as television cameras caught him angrily throwing a bib at Lemar during a tense confrontation between the pair.
Joao Felix Wants to Join Barcelona
According to Fabrizio Romano, Felix’s preference is to join Barcelona this summer but the Spanish champions have not yet reached an agreement with Atletico.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, Romano said: ‘Now it’s really important to mention that Joao Felix, in a direct conversation I just had a few minutes ago, told me: ‘I want to go to Barcelona’.
‘Joao Felix told me this very clear statement, he added that Barcelona is the biggest dream of his life since he was a kid and it’s his first choice on the market.
‘These are the words from Joao Felix, he added at the end of the conversation that if this happens it would be a dream come true.’
Conclusion
Joao Felix has made it clear that he wants to join Barcelona this summer, but it remains to be seen if the Spanish champions can reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid. In the meantime, Felix will have to continue training with Atletico and hope that his dream move comes true.
