Jeff Stelling, the legendary host of Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports, has bid farewell to the network after 30 years of service. Stelling, who joined Sky in 1992 and became the host of their Saturday football show two years later, announced in April that he was stepping down from his role. His replacement has not yet been announced. During his final show, which covered the final weekend of the Premier League season, Stelling was given a standing ovation by his colleagues. He also revealed that music legend Elton John had called him earlier in the week to thank him for his service. Stelling, who was reduced to tears during his penultimate show, expressed his gratitude for the support he had received from colleagues and viewers over the years. Sky Sports shared a montage of Stelling’s greatest clips, including his iconic chat with Chris Kamara after he missed a red card in the 2010 match between Portsmouth and Blackburn.
