Jamie Carragher predicts Arsenal-Brighton title

Date:

Jamie Carragher believes that if Manchester City beat Everton at Goodison Park this weekend, they will be crowned Premier League champions and could even go on to win the treble. City currently have a one point lead at the top of the table, with Arsenal, who have played a game more, hosting Brighton later on Sunday. On paper, City’s run-in is more difficult, especially with the huge Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid also to come, but Pep Guardiola’s men are still the overwhelming favourites to claim a fifth league title in six seasons. Carragher stated that if City get the three points they will win the title and maybe even the treble. He also noted that the trip to Everton could be the toughest remaining game in City’s quest. City have not lost a game in any competition since the start of February but will be wary of an Everton side that took a huge step towards survival last Monday by thrashing top four contenders Brighton 5-1.
