Jamie Carragher: Arsenal’s Super Sub

Date:

Jamie Carragher has suggested that the difference between Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League title race is the quality of their bench. The Gunners have drawn to Liverpool, West Ham and bottom club Southampton before losing 4-1 to Manchester City last time out, leaving them one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side. Carragher believes the difference in quality between the two sides is evident when looking at the players they can bring off the bench, with Arsenal only having Leandro Trossard as a potential game-changer. Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged his old club to strengthen in all outfield areas in the summer in order to close the gap to City, suggesting that this is why Arsenal have struggled of late.
