# The Power of Emma Hayes: Chelsea Forward Lauren James Talks Ahead of Manchester City Clash

Chelsea forward Lauren James is full of praise for her manager Emma Hayes ahead of their Women’s Super League clash with Manchester City. In an interview with BBC Sport, James says “you don’t get many managers like Emma Hayes”.

The Women’s Super League is the top tier of women’s football in England and is home to some of the best players in the world. Chelsea are one of the top teams in the league and have been managed by Emma Hayes since 2012.

Under Hayes’ guidance, Chelsea have won two Women’s Super League titles, two FA Cups and a Champions League title. She has also been named Manager of the Year twice and is widely respected in the game.

James, who joined Chelsea in 2019, says she is grateful to be able to work with such an experienced and successful manager. “It’s great to have a manager like Emma Hayes,” she said. “She has so much experience and knowledge of the game and she knows how to get the best out of her players.”

James also praised Hayes’ ability to motivate her players and create a positive atmosphere in the dressing room. “She knows how to get the best out of us and she always has a positive attitude,” she said. “She’s always pushing us to be better and she’s always encouraging us to do our best.”

Chelsea face Manchester City on Sunday 8 October in a highly anticipated Women’s Super League clash. The match will be broadcast live on BBC Two, iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app from 12.30 BST.

James is confident that Chelsea can come away with a win if they play to their potential. “We know it’s going to be a tough game but we’re confident that if we play our best football then we can come away with the win,” she said.

The match will be a great opportunity for James to show what she can do against one of the best teams in the league. “I’m really looking forward to the game,” she said. “It’s going to be a great test for us and I’m excited to show what I can do.”
