There was a nice touch from Jadon Sancho as he celebrated the opening goal in Manchester United’s Europa League win at Sheriff Tiraspol.
The Red Devils forward gave his side the lead against the Moldovan outfit on 17 minutes as he struck home with his left foot.
The 22-year-old’s celebration was a lovely moment as he revealed the shin pads he was wearing were some personalised ones gifted to him by a young Man United fan earlier this season.
“A kid asked me to wear them,” Sancho said after the match.
“It was a little gesture from me, when I scored, to show him I was wearing shin pads.”
He later tweeted: “This is for you Jacob, Young Legend.”
Sancho, who was snubbed from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes, was a big threat having had an effort cleared off the line on 36 minutes.
But Erik ten Hag’s men doubled their lead moments later as Cristiano Ronaldo slotted in a penalty after Diogo Dalot was tripped inside the box.

The goal is Ronaldo’s first of the season, his first in the Europa League and his 699th at club level on what’s his first start of the 2022/23 campaign.
Ronaldo’s penalty proved to be the final goal of the match as Man United coasted to a 2-0 win.
The result sees Ten Hag’s men get off the mark in the Europa League having lost at home to Real Sociedad last week.
Their next European assignment sees them travel to Cyprus, where they take on Omonia FC on October 6.
