Jack Wilshere slams Man Utd as Arsenal boss leads Under-18s to historic Youth Cup Final

Date:

Ahead of the FA Youth Cup final, Jack Wilshere, the former Arsenal star and current Gunners Under-18s boss, has taken a swipe at Manchester United fans. Wilshere’s team progressed into the final after Myles Lewis-Skelly scored in the final seconds to beat ten-man Manchester City 2-1 after extra time. Looking ahead to the April 29 final, Wilshere revealed his hope for a full-capacity crowd. However, he referred to last year’s final between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest as he took a dig at United fans.

Wilshere won the competition with Arsenal in 2009 in front of 33,662 fans at the Emirates, and urged the Gunners fans for a large turnout. The young Gunners will find out their opponent on Thursday when the other semi-final between West Ham and Southampton commences. On getting to the final, Wilshere added that it hasn’t sunk in yet. He said that it feels like one of the top moments of his career, both as a coach and as a player.

Wilshere’s comments about Manchester United fans have caused controversy among football fans. Some have criticized him for making such comments, while others have supported him. However, it is important to note that Wilshere’s comments were made in the context of promoting the FA Youth Cup final and encouraging Arsenal fans to attend the match.

The FA Youth Cup is an important competition for young players in England. It provides a platform for them to showcase their skills and gain experience playing in high-pressure situations. Many top players have participated in the competition over the years, including David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Steven Gerrard.

Arsenal has a strong record in the FA Youth Cup, having won the competition seven times. The Gunners’ last triumph came in 2009 when they defeated Liverpool in the final. Wilshere was a key player in that team, and his experience of winning the competition will be invaluable to his current squad.

The FA Youth Cup final is always a special occasion, and Wilshere is right to encourage Arsenal fans to attend the match. The atmosphere at youth games can be electric, and the support of the fans can make a huge difference to the players on the pitch. It is also an opportunity for fans to see the stars of tomorrow in action and get a glimpse of the future of English football.

In conclusion, while Wilshere’s comments about Manchester United fans may have caused controversy, it is important to focus on the positive aspects of his message. The FA Youth Cup final is an important competition for young players, and it deserves to be supported by fans. Wilshere’s experience of winning the competition will be invaluable to his current squad, and his comments should be seen as a call to arms for Arsenal fans to attend the match and cheer on their team.
