“Jack Grealish slams TV pundit Souness for criticism”

Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish has opened up about dealing with criticism from TV pundits. The 27-year-old has been in fine form for the club this season, scoring five goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. However, former Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness had previously criticised Grealish, saying he was “a good player, not a great player” who took too many touches of the ball. Grealish hit back at the time, and has now spoken to the Daily Mail about how he handles criticism from pundits. He said that some pundits talk as if they never played badly themselves, and referenced Souness’ comments about him holding onto the ball too long. Grealish explained that he played for Aston Villa, who often didn’t have the ball, so when they did, the manager told him to keep it. He also said that there was less pressure to play well when he was at Villa, as he wasn’t a £100m player and most of their games weren’t live on TV. Grealish admitted that he only listens to punditry when he’s played well, and ignores it when he’s played badly.
