Erling Haaland has not been at Manchester City for long, but he is settling in fast and happy to rib his teammates, with Jack Grealish revealing that the Norwegian told him: ‘I’m only half the price of you so I haven’t got the pressure.’

The forward has arrived in the Premier League from Borussia Dortmund thanks to City meeting his release clause of just £51m.

In reality, the Premier League champions will be paying closer to £85m for the 22-year-old, but the initial fee is pretty much half the £100m they paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish last summer.

This is something Haaland was happy to point out to the England man as the pair seem to be getting on well early in their time together at the club.

Grealish is expecting big things from the striker, tipping his new teammate to become ‘unstoppable’ as soon as he gets match fit.

‘Erling’s looked good in training and once he reaches full fitness will be unstoppable,’ Grealish said. ‘I can’t wait to play with him and I’m really looking forward to it.

‘He actually said to me, “I’m only half the price of you so I haven’t got the pressure”.

‘Obviously it’s always going to be big expectations but nowadays you have to deal with it. I suppose if he misses a chance or whatever then people are always going to have something to say. I’ve had to get used to it myself.’

Grealish started the friendly win over Club America on Wednesday, while Haaland sat out as he deals with minor injuries.

He has been training, though, and Pep Guardiola says we will see the Norwegian in action against Bayern Munich in the next friendly, on Saturday.

‘Next game he will be ready,’ said Guardiola. ‘He had niggles and a few problems. We’ll see. He’s trained just two sessions and we didn’t want to take risks. The season is so long.

‘He had problems last season and tried to handle it. We want to take care of him and want him fit.’
