Ivan Toney Makes a Stunning Comeback with Brentford
After serving an eight-match ban for betting offences, Ivan Toney made a triumphant return to the Brentford side. In his first match back, Toney was named captain for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
Despite Nottingham Forest fans taunting Toney with chants of “Toney, what’s the score?” after Danilo’s early opener, the striker quickly silenced them with an impressive display.
During the match, Brentford won a free-kick, and Toney took charge. Standing approximately 20 yards from the goal, he skillfully maneuvered the ball around the wall and into the bottom corner of Matt Turner’s net.
The home supporters erupted with joy as Toney celebrated with them before making his way to the bench to embrace Thomas Frank and his backroom team.
As he celebrated, Toney made a gesture indicating his commitment to Brentford by pointing to his chest and then to the pitch. He further expressed his gratitude by holding up a shirt that read the message: “Thank you Uncle Brian”.
