Real Valladolid’s right-back Ivan Fresneda has responded to transfer interest from Arsenal, with the Gunners looking to sign him in the summer window. Arsenal were close to signing the 18-year-old in January, having agreed a £13m fee with the La Liga side, but a deal fell through on deadline day. Mikel Arteta’s team will renew their interest at the end of the season and look to bring Fresneda to the Emirates ahead of the 2023-34 campaign. Spain U19 international Fresneda, under contract until 2025, has impressed across 19 games for Real Valladolid this season and had also been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund. Fresneda has now revealed that he is a big fan of Arsenal manager Arteta and Arsenal’s style of play. Meanwhile, Newcastle United are confident of signing Kieran Tierney from Arsenal this summer in a deal that is expected to cost around £30m.
