‘It’s what I’m all about’ – Marcus Rashford hails Erik ten Hag’s methods and says Dutch boss can lead Manchester United to Champions League football

Marcus Rashford believes that he’s thriving in Erik ten Hag’s side as he rediscovers his goalscoring form.

The Manchester United forward has looked back to his normal self following a hugely frustrating campaign at Old Trafford last term in which he fell down the pecking order and was heavily linked with a move away from the club.

For the 25-year-old, this term has been a marked improvement.

Rashford has established himself as a key man under Ten Hag, making 18 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals and providing three assists for his teammates.

With many wondering why the striker has improved so significantly from last term, Rashford heaped praise on their Dutch boss.

He said: “The manager likes possession football but he is also in favour of letting us go for the kill – and that’s what I am all about. I am enjoying my football again, 100 per cent.

“The manager has created a playing style that produces a better quality of chances – and we are really playing forward-thinking football.”

Rashford added: “Everyone at United is excited again. We have had a start that has been really good at times and not so good at other times. But that is part and parcel of the development of a squad. It’s not going to happen overnight.

Rashford will be hoping to make this his best season yet for the Red Devils

“The type of football we play is very physically demanding and I think a break for the World Cup will be good for us. We want to come back at the end of December and be full of energy and really take the games head-on.

“Top-four is possible. Why not? We’re not in a bad position at the moment. It’s quite tight, and we just have to concentrate on ourselves and keep improving.”
