The atmosphere was electric at Wembley on Saturday when Tyson Fury made his way to the ring, but the Gypsy King admitted he messed it up.
The 34-year-old took in the adulation of the 94,000 people in attendance with his walk to the ring with a funny monologue where he labelled the crowd ‘disciples of the Gypsy King’.
Fury then started making his way to the ring to Juicy by The Notorious BIG before the music switch to a remix of the Kings of Leon’s Sex on Fire.
The heavyweight champion was sat on a gold throne and draped in St George’s crosses given that Saturday was St George’s Day.
Fury then started running to the ring with most assuming this was all part of the act.
“It was an entertaining night, I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like that,” admitted Fury in his post-fight press conference. “I messed up my ring walk and ran to the ring. I was excited, I lost it completely.”
This did not throw him off his rhythm, though, as he went on to knock out Dillian Whyte in the sixth round.
Reacting to the ring walks on Monday morning on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist joked that he was glad Fury was not fighting WWE legend The Undertaker.

He told talkSPORT Breakfast: “When I watched it I thought to myself that I was so pleased he wasn’t fighting The Undertaker.
“The bout wouldn’t have started until half four! I’m telling you right now, the time it takes the Undertaker to get in the ring – he’s the longest in history.
“I’ve got to say from Tyson’s point of view if the only thing that went wrong was his ring walk then that is a small concern.”
