Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has given his backing to Erling Haaland, as the striker revealed he has been getting tips from a Premier League legend.
Haaland turned down interest from Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona to complete a £54million move to City this summer after two-and-a-half successful years at Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old is viewed by many as the catalyst to finally get City over the line in the Champions League and Gundogan has no doubts the striker will fire the club to success this season.
During a Twitter Q&A, the German international was asked whether Haaland would make a massive impact at Man City this season.
Gundogan candidly replied: “There’s no point in questioning him. With his determination and desire to score goals, he will win us a lot of games.”
The German’s backing will no doubt provide a boost to Haaland who came in for criticism after City’s 3-1 Community Shield defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
The nitpicking directed at the Norwegian sensation was heightened following Darwin Nunez’s impressive goal scoring introduction to English football, with many believing both strikers will go head-to-head in this season’s title race.
All eyes will be on Haaland once again this weekend as he has the opportunity to open his Premier League account when City begin their title defence at West Ham.

If the hot-shot finds the net at the London Stadium on Sunday, it could be attributed to his recent meeting with Premier League all-time leading scorer Alan Shearer.
Haaland posted photos of his exchange with the former Newcastle United star and scorer of a record 260 Premier League goals, alongside the caption: “Got a few tips from this guy today.”
The meeting of the two marksmen could only have been a positive for Haaland who will hope to continue his prolific form as City look to claim a third-consecutive Premier League title.
City’s new No.9 arrives at the Etihad Stadium having scored a staggering 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund during his stint in the Bundesliga.
