Owen Hargreaves has revealed he ‘loves’ watching Arsenal in action – but thinks they will come up short in their quest to win the Premier League.
The Gunners are dreaming of a first title in 19 years, with the north London outfit five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta has got Arsenal playing brilliantly at both ends of the pitch and are unbeaten in 11 Premier League matches.
Bur despite their stunning start to the season, former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves believes their squad depth doesn’t compare to the Citizens.
Though he did back Arsenal to beat rivals Tottenham in Sunday’s north London derby.
Speaking on talkSPORT Drive, the 41-year-old said: “Arsenal have blown me away, I think they are going to continue that run and win the game 2-1.
“I don’t think [they will win the league], they are a bit like Leicester. They didn’t believe until late in the season, March, April.
“I think Arsenal, even they are starting to believe they will do it.
“Defensively, they have been unbelievable, I think they can [win the league] but I don’t think they will.
“But I hope they get a body in to help them go win it because the fanbase has had to suffer for a long time and I think it would be great for the Premier League if they won it.
“I don’t think they have enough depth if someone gets injured.
“I absolutely love [Bukayo] Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli] and [Martin] Odegaard, the guys are just so fun to watch.
“I think it would be a great story but I don’t think they have the depth.
“You look at Manchester City and Liverpool and what they have on the bench, it’s insane.”
