How old is Alejandro Garnacho? Manchester United starlet enjoying brilliant start to life at Old Trafford

Alejandro Garnacho has looked like a real bright spark for Manchester United this season and should have a big future ahead.

The winger was born in Spain but has represented Argentina at youth level and has impressed for the Red Devils so far.

Garnacho has already contributed to three goals in his first proper Premier League season, while he has performed well in the Europa League and Carabao Cup too.

It might be early days, but people are starting to get excited by this new kid on the block.

But how old is Garnacho? talkSPORT.com has the answers.

    How old is Alejandro Garnacho?

The Red Devils signed Garnacho from the Atletico Madrid youth system for around £411,000.

The forward moved to Old Trafford as a teenager and remained in the youth squads until this summer.

His move to the first team was well deserved after directly contributing to 34 goals in 54 appearances for Man United’s various youth teams.

He made his first-team debut last season under Ralf Rangnick in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea and more first-team appearances have followed this year.

And given the forward is still a teenager at just 18 years old, and turns 19 in July, we could be seeing an awful lot more of Garnacho in the coming years.

    Alejandro Garnacho’s future

The 18-year-old’s current deal at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2024 – although the club have the option to extend the deal by an extra year.

However, he is yet to sign a new contract with the Red Devils and his representatives have turned down the first offer from Man United.

The Red Devils were prepared to pay Garnacho £20,000-a-week, but that has been rejected, with his agents keen to secure him a much better deal after a glittering start to his United career.

And this has drawn the attention of Real Madrid and Juventus, with the European giants monitoring the situation.

He has particularly impressed in recent weeks and set up Marcus Rashford for the winner in the Manchester derby, so it’s no wonder Man United want to tie him down to a new deal.

And Red Devils legend Paul Scholes was full of praise for Garnacho after he helped Man United beat Manchester City 2-1.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: “I think a special mention for Garnacho as well, it was a massive influence when he came on – I’d argue a bit more of an influence than Antony was – and he’s shown when he came into the game he can be so quick.

“It looks like he’s going to score goals, runs through all the time, and makes United look really dangerous.”
