Premier League stalwarts Everton are deep in relegation trouble after slipping into the bottom three following their 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
A derby defeat, plus Burnley’s win over Wolves, saw Frank Lampard’s men fall into the drop zone with just six matches to play of the season.
Everton have a game in hand on 17th-placed Burnley, but fears of a first relegation in over 70 years are continuing to grow.
The Clarets have all the momentum at the moment under interim boss Mike Jackson with seven points from their last three games.
Everton meanwhile still have tough games against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal still to play and boast the worst away record in the top-flight.
How long have Everton been in the top-flight?
Everton are one of six English clubs who have never been relegated from the Premier League since its creation in 1992.
The others are Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea, so they are part of an elite group.
In fact, Liverpool, United, Spurs and Chelsea have all been relegated from the top-flight of English football more recently than the Toffees.
Arsenal are the only club with a better record as they haven’t gone down since the 1912/13 season.
The last time Everton were relegated was in the 1950/51 campaign and they have been in the top-flight since 1954/55.
The Toffees are one of England’s most recognisable clubs and the Premier League would be much worse off without them.
However, are this group of players good enough to save the club from relegation?
Well, Harry Redknapp certainly doesn’t think so.

“They are just a very poor group of players,” Redknapp told talkSPORT Breakfast. “I watched it on TV and Jamie Carragher said it was a Championship back four.
“If you go through, man-for-man, it’s a poor outfit. They’ve recruited badly, got no legs in midfield, the little boy Allan can’t run and get around the pitch.
“It’s only the young lad [Anthony Gordon] who showed any life and played with some energy.
“They really are a poor outfit.
“They are average players, average characters. Frank has his work cut out. If he keeps them up then he’s done very well because they are in desperate trouble.”
He continued: “It’s not just suddenly happened, it’s happened all year. It’s what one win in 14 now.
“As I said, they’ve had Champions League winning managers who have gone there and couldn’t get anything out of them.”
