The Premier League is home to some of the world’s most talented footballers, and millions of fans tune in from around the globe to watch them in action. But who are the highest-earning players in the Premier League? Here are the top five:
Kevin De Bruyne – £425,000: The Manchester City playmaker is the best-paid player in the Premier League. The 31-year-old Belgian has won four Premier League titles during his time in England and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time in the competition’s history. He recently negotiated a new contract with the club that saw him receive a pay rise from his previous £350,000-a-week salary.
Erling Haaland – £402,250: The Norwegian striker has made a huge impact since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. He has scored over 50 goals in all competitions this season and holds the record for the most goals scored in a single season in the Premier League. Manager Pep Guardiola has even compared him to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
David De Gea – £402,250: Despite some mistakes this season, De Gea has kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper this season. The Spanish shot stopper joined Manchester United in 2011 and has since become one of the all-time greats, winning the competition in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season in charge in 2012/13. He is out of contract this summer but Erik ten Hag is keen for him to sign an extension at Old Trafford.
Mohamed Salah – £373,750: Salah has become a Liverpool legend since joining the club from Roma in 2017. He has scored more Premier League goals than any other player in Liverpool’s history and was instrumental in their dominant title-winning season of 2019/20. He became the best-paid player in Liverpool’s history when he signed a new contract in the summer of 2022.
Jadon Sancho – £373,750: The Englishman has struggled for form since moving to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund for £72 million in 2021. He was even left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Qatar. However, his time at Old Trafford has been disrupted by struggles with his physical and mental health, with ten Hag having sent him on an individual training camp to get the best out of him.
