‘He bodied Ruben Dias a few years ago’ – Jack Grealish gives hilarious reaction after centre-back beats shocked Erling Haaland in FIFA 23 strength rating

Jack Grealish poked fun at Manchester City teammate Ruben Dias during the reveal of the new FIFA 23 ratings.

The former Aston Villa skipper was joined by Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Nathan Ake as the players were asked to guess the ratings ahead of the release of the upcoming videogame.

Haaland came up against defender Dias and Spanish midfielder Rodri in the physical statistic category with Ake, Palmer and Grealish all tasked with guessing who has the higher rating between the trio.

When asked what he thought his own rating would be, Haaland replied: “I think it will be 88 [out of 100].

Grealish then cheekily replied: “I think he should be higher because of the way he bodied Ruben a few years ago.

Haaland was subsequently revealed as 87 for strength and when asked if he thought he’d be higher than midfielder Rodri, the Norwegian joked: “If [Rodri’s stats are] higher, I will leave,”

Rodri pulled out an 84 but it was Portuguese defender Dias who got the banter in full flow by topping both players with a score of 88, which sparked a shocked reaction from Haaland and a cheeky dig from Grealish.

“Did you not see what Erling done to him two-years ago in the Champions League?,” Grealish replied.

Neither Grealish or Haaland could believe it when Dias’ physical ratings came out above the Norwegian striker’s

Grealish was referring to the Champions League quarter-final clash between City and Haaland’s Dortmund in 2021.

Pep Guardiola’s side advanced to the semi-final 4-2 on aggregate but not before a scare, with the Bundesliga side making a game of it.

Haaland was his usual menacing self over the two legs despite not getting on the scoresheet and gave Dias the runaround over the course of the tie, including one moment at the Etihad where he knocked over his opponent with ease.

Haaland sunk his former employers last week with a late goal in City’s 2-1 win over Dortmund at the Etihad.

The Norway international leapt to direct a volley past Alexander Meyer to register his third Champions League goal of the season.

The 22-year-old already has 11 Premier League goals from his first seven games as he aims to fire City to a Premier League and Champions League double.

FIFA 23 will be released on Friday September 30.
