Harvey Elliott has signed a new and improved long-term contract at Liverpool just a year on from him penning a five-year deal.
The 19-year-old has impressed so much at Anfield that he has been rewarded with another deal in consecutive years after showing glimpses of his talent on Merseyside.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was so impressed with the teenager after a loan with Blackburn that he was placed straight into the team’s line-up to start the season, impressing immediately in Liverpool’s cup double-winning campaign.
However, a brutal fracture dislocation of his ankle on matchday four against Leeds curtailed his development, returning five months later in February to score against Cardiff in the FA Cup.
“It’s always nice to know that I’m going to be here for many more years,” Elliott told LiverpoolFC.com, who described him as ‘our diamond’.
“Which is always a great thing with it being my boyhood club and there is nothing in this world that makes me more happy and more excited than this.
“It’s been a big rollercoaster for me and my family and even for the club. So much has happened in the years that I have been here.
“We’ve already won so much and hopefully we can win so much more, so just to know that I am going to be here for a long time again – as I said, it’s always a wonderful feeling for myself and my family [and] being Liverpool supporters there is no better place in this world to be than playing for Liverpool and to put the shirt on and go out and play for the team and the fans.

The England Under-21 featured in Liverpool’s opening match of the new Premier League season, a 2-2 draw away at former club Fulham, and starred as he set up Mohamed Salah’s assist for Darwin Nunez’ first goal for the club.
And he may yet see more minutes with the man he replaced on the day, Thiago Alcantara, out for at least six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Thiago joins English midfielders Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines, leaving the Reds light in the centre of the park, but it seems the issue won’t be resolved in the transfer market.
Despite strong claims of a bid from Liverpool in the Portuguese press, The Times have ruled out a move for Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes, with the club wrapping up their transfer business early.
The Reds issues are expected to be eased with the return of Guinean midfielder Naby Keita against Crystal Palace this weekend after he missed the Fulham clash through illness.
Highly-rated 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic may also soon see game time after making an impact on Klopp by impressing in pre-season and for the club’s underage sides.
