Reports have emerged linking Arsenal with a surprise move for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. However, it has been suggested that the Gunners are not willing to meet Chelsea’s £70 million asking price for the German international. Havertz’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain, with Real Madrid reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Karim Benzema, who has joined Al Ittihad. Arsenal and Real Madrid are said to be in the race for Havertz’s signature, but both clubs have baulked at Chelsea’s valuation of the player. It is believed that any potential suitor will not pay more than £50 million for Havertz this summer. Chelsea paid £75 million for Havertz in 2020 and would be willing to part ways with him. Havertz himself is open to a new adventure away from west London, having not indicated any desire to extend his contract beyond 2025. It is believed that Chelsea will take into consideration Havertz’s preference when deciding on his future destination.
