Harvard Defensive Tackle Thor Griffith Commits to Louisville
Harvard All-Ivy League defensive tackle Thor Griffith has made the decision to commit to the University of Louisville. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 320 pounds, Griffith’s impressive stats include 33 1/2 tackles for loss, 13 1/2 sacks, and 132 tackles in 30 games for Harvard.
Strength and Explosiveness
Griffith’s strength and explosiveness have made him a highly sought-after player. He boasts a 4.95 40-yard dash time and has bench-pressed 225 pounds an impressive 45 times. In fact, he was ranked No. 8 on this year’s Freaks List.

When Griffith entered the transfer portal last month, he expressed his interest in joining either Ohio State or Michigan. However, after careful consideration, he ultimately chose Louisville. According to Griffith, “Louisville was exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to commit. The coaching staff was great, they were exactly what I was looking for. Both in experience and mindset. Also loved the fact that the whole city is behind the school.”
A Dominant Force in the Ivy League
Griffith, originally from New Hampshire, has a background in wrestling and youth hockey. Over the past three seasons, he has emerged as a dominant force in the Ivy League. His dedication to his craft is evident in his intense work ethic, which includes consuming 6,000 to 8,000 calories per day to gain 10 pounds while simultaneously improving his speed. His impressive 10-yard split time of 1.65 and a 4.57 pro shuttle time would have ranked him among the top defensive tackles at the 2023 NFL combine. Coaches in the Ivy League have described him as “unblockable.”
