Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has expressed his support for teammate Marcus Rashford following another disappointing performance in the Premier League. Rashford was heavily criticized for his poor display in the recent match against Newcastle, where he struggled both in attack and defense.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is planning to have a private conversation with Rashford to address his current form. Additionally, United legend Paul Scholes also criticized Rashford’s performance at St James’ Park.

However, Maguire defended Rashford, highlighting his exceptional performance in the previous season. He acknowledged that this season has been challenging for Rashford but emphasized that he is working hard and his teammates understand his abilities.

Maguire also admitted that Manchester United did not perform well as a team in the match against Newcastle. He acknowledged that they lacked intensity and failed to create enough scoring opportunities. Despite putting pressure on their opponents and having a disallowed goal, United’s threat was not significant enough to secure a victory.

Maguire expressed his disappointment with United’s poor record against the top six teams in the league. He recognized the importance of the match against Chelsea and stated that they will strive to earn three points in the upcoming fixture.
