England went into half-time three goals up against their Group B opponents as Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling all scored.

Saka got a second before Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish netted off the bench in the second half as the Three Lions ran rampant, despite a consolation brace from Mehdi Taremi.

Kane didn’t net but assisted two of his side’s goals at the Khalifa International Stadium.

The first, an excellent cross, allowed Sterling to nudge home an inventive finish.

And the second was a lovely pass for Rashford following a superb twist away from his marker.

This, in just 76 minutes, is already better than his record for Spurs in the Premier League this season.

Despite an excellent play-making campaign last-term, this time out he has acquired just one assist in 1338 minutes.

England were able to get their World Cup campaign off to the best possible start with their win against Iran.

Their other Group opponents, Wales and USA, will face each other in Monday’s final game.

Gareth Southgate’s side return to action on Friday evening as they face their stateside opponents, before capping off their group action against the Dragons next week.

Kane and co. will be hoping to replicate their performance against Iran throughout the rest of the tournament as the Three Lions set their sights on a second ever World Cup title.

But Kane will definitely want to get a goal, and some more assists, as the tournament goes on.
