Harry Kane, Daniel Levy Talks Revealed

Harry Kane revealed that he and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy had showdown talks earlier this week, with the main topic of discussion being the possibility of the club finishing eighth or ninth in the league. Levy had recently sacked Cristian Stellini following a 6-1 thrashing at St James’ Park and consulted Spurs’ player committee, which is comprised of Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Kane. Kane hinted that the impact of Antonio Conte’s words after his explosive post-match comments at Southampton had an effect on the squad. Kane said that Levy wanted to understand where the players’ heads were at and that they are still fighting for fourth place, but if not, they will try to finish as high up as possible. He added that in this competitive league, if they are not careful, they could end up eighth or ninth. Kane was applauded off at full-time along with the rest of his team-mates on Thursday night after a spirited 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United. Ryan Mason, in his second caretaker spell in charge, had a big half-time team talk and saw Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min net in the second period to help Tottenham restore some pride.
