Erling Haaland Ruled Out of Euro 2024 Qualifier for Norway
Erling Haaland, the talented football player from Norway, will not be able to participate in a Euro 2024 qualifier due to an ankle injury. This unfortunate news comes just days before his team, Manchester City, faces Liverpool in a crucial Premier League match.
Ankle Injury for Haaland
Haaland played in a 2-0 victory over the Faroes Islands on Thursday, coming on as a substitute at half-time. Although he completed the game, Norway team doctor Ola Sand revealed that Haaland had sustained a minor ankle twist during the match.

On Saturday, Sand provided an update, stating that Haaland would not be able to participate in the qualifier against Scotland due to the ankle injury. While the injury is not severe, Haaland is experiencing significant pain and limited mobility.
The official statement from Norway reads: “Erling Braut Haaland, in consultation with medical officer Ola Sand and national team manager Stale Solbakken, has made the decision to miss the European Championship qualifier against Scotland. Haaland injured his foot during the match against the Faroe Islands and is therefore unable to play in Glasgow.
“The injury is not serious, but he is in significant pain and has limited function, which unfortunately makes the Scotland game too early for his return,” said national team doctor Ola Sand.
Haaland’s Recent Performances
This is not the first time Haaland has faced injury concerns. He was substituted at half-time during Manchester City’s 6-1 victory over Bournemouth earlier this month. However, he managed to play in the Champions League match against Young Boys three days later, scoring two goals. He also scored a double in a 4-4 draw against Chelsea before the international break.
Upcoming Premier League Clash
Manchester City will be hosting Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on November 25 when the Premier League resumes. With just one point separating the two teams, this match is of utmost importance for both sides.
