Haaland’s 5-goal haul for Man City earns him ‘goal pig’ and ‘shark’ titles, but Jason Cundy believes Harry Kane is the superior footballer.

Date:

Former Chelsea star Jason Cundy has praised Erling Haaland’s goal-scoring ability, calling him a “monster” and a “goal pig” after the Norwegian striker scored five goals in Manchester City’s victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League. However, Cundy still maintains that Harry Kane is a better footballer than Haaland, despite the latter being hailed as the best number nine in the world. Cundy believes that Kane’s ability to create and set up goals makes him a better player overall, and that if he were to play for City, they would win the title.

Haaland’s performance in the Champions League saw him become the youngest player to break the 30-goal barrier in the competition, and he currently has 39 goals in all competitions this season. Cundy used a colourful metaphor to describe Haaland’s approach to the game, likening him to a shark that smells blood and clamps down on its prey. Despite this, he still believes that Kane is a better player overall, citing his ability to play as both a ten and a nine and his link-up play with other players.

Cundy’s comments have sparked debate among football fans, with many arguing that Haaland’s goal-scoring prowess makes him a better player than Kane. However, others agree with Cundy that Kane’s all-round ability as a footballer makes him a more valuable asset to any team. Ultimately, it is up to individual fans to decide which player they believe is better, but there is no denying that both Kane and Haaland are among the best strikers in the world today.
