According to talkSPORT, it is becoming increasingly likely that Granit Xhaka will leave Arsenal this summer. The Swiss international’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and Arsenal is reportedly reluctant to let him run it down and leave for free. Xhaka has become a fan favourite this season and has been a driving force in the Gunners’ surprise Premier League title bid.
Xhaka’s family is settled in London, and they are not a key factor behind any potential exit and return to Europe. However, with a contract that expires in the summer of 2024, Arsenal may have to seize the chance to raise funds from the former captain.
When asked about the rumours ahead of Arsenal’s match with Brighton, manager Mikel Arteta said that he was not going to reply to certain stories about Xhaka. He further added that he was extremely happy with Granit and that he was having an incredible season. Arteta also said that this was probably the best season Xhaka had had at the club, and they were really happy to have him.
