Gary Neville Mocks Arsenal Fans After Calls for Ban
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has responded to calls for him to be banned from the Emirates by mocking Arsenal fans. Neville, who has a long-standing feud with the Arsenal fanbase, often faces criticism for being too harsh on the club.
Controversial Decision in Newcastle’s Win Against Arsenal
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, expressed his fury over a controversial decision made by the referee in Newcastle’s 1-0 victory against the Gunners on Saturday. The decision was reviewed by VAR for three different incidents, but it was ultimately deemed that there was insufficient evidence to disallow the goal. Arteta described the decision as “embarrassing” and “an absolute disgrace” in a post-match interview.
However, Neville disagreed with Arteta’s assessment and defended the referee’s decision to let the goal stand.
Neville’s Response to Calls for Ban
The backlash from Arsenal fans prompted suggestions that Neville should be banned from commentating on Arsenal games. One fan even suggested that the club should ban him from the Emirates Stadium as it is “their property”. In response, Neville delivered a stinging comeback, stating that there is no need to ban him as he will be visiting table-topping Tottenham more frequently in the future.
“To be fair, with Spurs at the top now, we will be coming less anyway,” said Neville.
