Gary Neville Criticizes Arsenal Players, Slams In-Game Huddle

Date:

Gary Neville has identified three senior Arsenal players who have faltered during the run-in. After blowing two-goal leads against Liverpool and West Ham, Mikel Arteta’s side were expected to get back to winning ways against Southampton on Friday night, but instead they conceded a 3-1 lead in the 88th minute and salvaged a draw. This has put Manchester City in firm favourites to retain their Premier League crown. Neville has implored the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jesus and Partey to show some leadership and composure, as he believes they haven’t been right in the last three games. He also called out Zinchenko for his very public display of emotion in the immediate aftermath of Walcott’s goal against his former club. Neville said: ‘Shock, absolute shock around this stadium, Zinchenko is forming a huddle, I have to say he would be better getting round his centre-back than forming a huddle, this is extremely strange, extremely strange. Odegaard is having a word saying what’s going on. It’s all a little odd. If you wanted signs of nerves, signs of wobble, signs of tension, you’re seeing it all in front of your eyes. Watching that first 20 minutes they were watching the invisibles.’ Arsenal have five days to sort themselves out before they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, where they will look to wrestle back some initiative in the title race.
