The Jack Grealish vs Graeme Souness back and forth has dominated the headlines in recent days and now Gareth Southgate has weighed in.
During a recent talkSPORT appearance, Souness described Grealish as a ‘good, but not great’ player.
The Man City star responded to those comments, saying the Liverpool legend seems to have a problem with him.
Souness then came back and defended his views, giving a lengthy explanation for his reasoning, but finished saying he’d love to have a night out.
Let’s be honest, most of us would love an invite to that booze up and Southgate is no different.
“We’d all like a night out with Jack, I wouldn’t mind one with Souey as well, so no problem,” the Three Lions boss joked to talkSPORT.
Southgate, of course, did give a serious answer to talkSPORT reporter Faye Carruthers’ question on Grealish and his recent contributions.
For a while it seemed like Southgate was the one who lacked a little belief in Grealish after making him wait a long time for his England call-up.
But now admits he loves working with the City star with the national team.

He added: “He’s had a difficult start to the season with a couple of injuries. It was good to see him arriving at the far post at the weekend and get in the box and scoring.
“We know he’s got great creativity. Jack has contributed well for us, we are happy how he is.
“We love working with him, he’s a great kid to have around the camp.
“He’s working at a top club where it’s not easy to get in the team, never mind perform well.
“I don’t know if he will ever find the level Graeme wants!
“We are happy with the contributions for us, but I can’t really talk about club because you are not always 100 per cent certain on what individuals’ roles is and what the requirements are and what they are being asked to do with the ball.
“It’s of course easy to have an opinion from the outside, which I do with the players. I have to dig a bit deeper with the specifics they are being asked to do.”
