Noel Gallagher, a Manchester City superfan and Oasis star, has compared the club’s Champions League success to Lionel Messi’s World Cup triumph. After winning the treble, Gallagher believes that Pep Guardiola will be aiming for even more silverware at City next season. Manchester City won the Champions League for the first time on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan, becoming the second team to win the treble after Manchester United in 1999. Gallagher stated that the Champions League is symbolic and that City has been the best team in Europe for the last five years. Guardiola has now won 12 major honours at City since joining in 2016, with five of those being Premier League titles. Gallagher believes that Guardiola will want to make it four on the trot and that the squad is still hungry for more success.
